Laguna Phuket Partners with NECA for Solar Energy Development

Reaffirming its dedication to eco-conscious practices, Laguna Phuket, Asia’s premier integrated resort destination, has signed a new agreement with New Energy Capital Asia Pte Ltd (NECA). This partnership is set to spearhead multiple solar energy projects across the destination, firmly cementing its commitment to clean and renewable energy solutions.

Laguna Phuket's journey has been one of remarkable transformation and ecological stewardship. Originally a tin mine considered too environmentally damaged for any development potential, it then undertook a 7-year rehabilitation journey that transformed Laguna Phuket into the magnificent integrated resort destination that is today. Since its establishment in 1987, Laguna Phuket has been nurturing the land back to life and remained committed to safeguarding its natural environment and developing sustainable communities.

As part of the ongoing dedication to environmental conservation, Laguna Phuket recently collaborated with SUGi, undertaking a rewilding project that resulted in the creation of pocket forests. These biodiverse pockets, have revitalized local ecosystems and provided sanctuaries for indigenous flora and fauna.

Our partnership with NECA is another remarkable milestone in our sustainability journey. By harnessing the power of solar energy, we are taking a decisive step towards a greener and more sustainable future for Laguna Phuket. Building on our history as a rehabilitated tin mine, we continue to innovate and seek eco-friendly solutions that align with our vision of creating a harmonious balance between luxury hospitality and environmental conservation. Anthony Loh – VP Resort Services, Laguna Hotels & Resorts
